People ask for a man and van price as if every job in Rochdale were the same length. They are not. Man and van is quoted from what is moving, how it leaves the building, and how far it is going. There is no tariff on this page.
What changes the quote
A sofa and four boxes from a ground-floor flat in Kirkholt is a smaller job than a bedroom, a desk and a bike from the top floor of a terrace in Spotland. Stairs, a long carry and a van that cannot wait at the door all add time. A second stop, or a wait for keys, belongs on the quote as well.
Distance matters. Across Castleton or Belfield is not the same job as a drive out of the borough. If the list is really a whole house, we will say so and quote house removals instead of squeezing it into a small van.
What does not help
A bedroom label does not help. “A few bits” does not help. Photos of the large pieces, both addresses, the floor, and a straight list do help. If housemates might add items, say that before the day rather than at the door.
We do not publish a time-based charge, and we do not ask you to guess one. The written quote is the figure. It is free, there is no obligation to book, and it stays valid for 3 months if the list stays the same.
