Directions from Rochdale Town Centre to our Rochdale base
Rochdale town centre is the tight set of streets around Yorkshire Street, The Butts, The Esplanade and Number One Riverside. Flats over shops, older mill conversions and short terraces sit behind the main frontages. A van usually stops in a side street or a rear yard, then the carry is through a passage. Swain Street is up the hill to the north, so the drive in is the easy part.
The town centre tram stop and the bus interchange fill the kerbs through the day. Saturday shopping and a home match at the Crown Oil Arena on Sandy Lane change which gaps are left. Tell us the floor, whether there is a lift, and if a sofa has to turn on a shared stair. Bay windows and narrow halls are normal in the older blocks.
See flat removals for a floor in a block and house removals when a whole terrace is going. Nearby: Spotland and Belfield. Rochdale removals runs from Swain Street, not from a yard in the centre.
If the flat is a rental, list which rooms are in the job and where the keys go back. Insurance is provided. We will not leave the van on a bus stand or across a tram crossing.

Moving in Rochdale Town Centre: common questions
Can a van stop on Yorkshire Street?
Treat the main shopping streets as a last resort. Most loads leave from a side street, a service yard or a rear passage. Tell us the door you actually use, not only the shop front.
Does the tram affect a town centre move?
Yes. Rochdale Town Centre tram stop and the bus interchange bring cars and pedestrians through the day. We plan the stop so the van is not left on a crossing or a bus stand.
What if the flat is above a shop?
Say which floor, whether there is a lift, and if the stairs turn tightly. A sofa often has to come through a shared hallway rather than the shop door.
