Smithy Bridge is the pause in the valley between Rochdale and Littleborough. Houses cluster around the station, Smithy Bridge Road and the lanes towards the lake. Some are semis with a drive. Others are tighter rows where commuters already park for the train. Swain Street is back down the valley, so we are heading north-east, and the last five minutes are about the street rather than the main road.
Weekday mornings are the busy ones, when the station fills and the kerb disappears. Tell us if the new house is on the lake side or on the Rochdale side of the bridge, because the approach is different. A flat in a converted house needs the floor and whether the stair turns.
